Please Follow Me (again)

My apologies for making you pack up and follow me again, but I’ve moved onto a bigger and better blog and I want you to come along with me, and I promise this is the last time… for a very long time …like forever!!

I’ve been studying the maze of Feedburner/Google/Email Subscriptions and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to successfully transfer over your current email subscription to the new blog, so if you don’t receive any of my witty and lovely photography blog emails in the near future, than I’d say “your luggage got lost in flight”.  If that happens, don’t fret because I have a super easy solution.

1.  Go to my new blog:  blog.mclouse.com

a) If you prefer an email subscription; the blog post will magically appear in your inbox:

2. Click on “Follow Me”

3. Click on “Subscribe Via Email”

4. A new window will open.  Add your email and shabang, you’re back in business!

b) If you’re a bit more techy and you want a RSS feed to your homepage or Google Reader than follow these instructions:

1.  Go to my new blog:  blog.mclouse.com

2. Click on RSS

3. The screen will change and then you’ll have all of your options to choose from.

4.  Done!

See you over at the new blog!!  I hope you enjoy it – let me know what you think!

Cosmopolitan Anyone?

I don’t have many claims to fame (yet), so humor me with this one!

While photographing a recent event, I met a very interesting man who touts that he is the original creator of the fun pink drink made famous by Sex and the City, The Cosmopolitan!  He was clinging to his last calling card which he didn’t want to part with, so I did the next best thing, I photographed him with his card!  Pretty clever huh!?

So now you can brag to all of your friends that you know the photographer, that met Neal Murray, the guy that claims he created the Cosmo.

Will You Marry Me?

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I can feel all the love brewing!!

Are you planning on popping the question on February 14th? If so, please, please consider inviting me capture the moment! I’ll create a sweet-heart package while coordinating a sneaky plan with you so the unsuspecting gal (or guy!) won’t catch on and then the rest will be history!

Here are a couple moments from a grand proposal a few years ago.

I’ve photographed Jewish celebrations before, but this was my very first Bar Mitzvah in a Synagogue and it was such an experience and honor!  I’m guessing the majority of Temples don’t even allow photography, so with this honor came requirements; that I be as quiet as a mouse, remain as still as a sloth and unless I wanted to be struck down from Heaven above, under no circumstances could I use flash.  So I planted myself up in the balcony, with a camera sitting on the bench to my left and another on my right (different lenses for different perspectives) and I removed my flash to eliminate any chances of me bumping the on switch.

The ceremony was really fascinating and there were several moments that brought tears to my eyes.  For instance Sam dedicated his Bar Mitzvah to a 6 year old Jewish boy (whom he named) that died in the Nazi concentration camps.  Deep breath!

The ceremony was at the amazing Emanu-El Temple in San Francisco, which has some of the most exquisite architecture I’ve ever seen; inside and out!  And then the celebration continued at the Forest Hills Club with lots of food, music and silly games for the gaggle of teens.

Here are some moments from the first part of his day:

And here are some architectural photos that I couldn’t resist!  Sam’s ceremony was in the smaller more intimate part of the building which was perfect for his family, but I did get a chance to walk over to the amazingly grand other “wing” (I’m sorry, I’m fumbling for the correct terminology since I’m not Jewish) and it was such a sight!!  Take a moment to visualize yourself sitting in the pew and then you begin to understand the scale of the building!

Here are some moments from the second part of his day:

Amazing Images [now] + Updated Website [coming soon]

I’ve been working with some lovely new editing software and I’m crazy in love with some of the unique results; especially this vintage-style!  As much as I love it, I will say that I’m very particular about keeping these vintage images for just a select few when editing an entire wedding, but when I do, I feel they give such a unique touch and add a beautiful element to the story.

Here are two of my new favorite images from a wedding that I photographed back in 2006.  I feel like these images stop time…
